Judging Criteria

The judges are looking for the contestant's exhibition of overall poise, personality, beauty and intelligence.

  • Personal interview before the panel of judges. There are usually 5 to 6 judges. Each contestant can expect to be asked about family, career if any, activities and interests.

  • Physical fitness as assessed in aerobic-wear

  • Evening gown (how the contestant carries herself in the gown)

  • On-stage question for the top 5 finalists

  • Costume competition - this is not included in the point tally for Mrs. Minnesota, but a special award is given for the best costume.
