Jennifer Schluga - Mrs. Wisconsin-America 2008

June 7th, 2008 was an exciting day at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota as the winners of the most extravagant Tri State Mrs. Pageant were crowned. Jennifer Schluga was honored with the title as Mrs. Wisconsin America 2008 after being runner up in both 2006 and 2007. She won the awards for Best in Evening Gown and Best in Swimsuit. Jennifer will now move on to the national chase for the crown of Mrs. America 2008 to be held in Tucson, Arizona on September 2nd.
Jennifer is an Animal Welfare Specialist for the Elmbrook Humane Society in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Not only does she work with wildlife, but she also assists families in finding their perfect furry friend! One of her favorite quotes is “Until there are none, Adopt one,” regarding the pet overpopulation throughout America.
Jennifer is the mother of six beautiful daughters. Sierra 19, Sammy 16, Jade 14, Cassy 13, Madison 10 and Sydney 9, may one day be pageant hopefuls themselves. She has been married to her husband Robb for “7 years and counting,” she says. Robb is an electrician.
Jennifer is a leukemia survivor and active within the state with cancer awareness. She knows first hand how important it is that all people feel comfortable enough with themselves inside, while undergoing treatments that make you lose your outer beauty. She volunteers with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as well as the Children’s Miracle Network.
Jennifer is the founder of the Wisconsin Chinchilla Rescue that helps to rescue and re-home neglected and abandoned small exotic animals. She teaches compassion to school children and their families through education and interaction with her animals in need of quality homes.
Mrs. Wisconsin’s hobbies are ballet, scrap booking, archery, fishing and she is a football fanatic. As is she is not busy enough, she also fits in time to attend her husbands and childrens sporting events and performances.
She says, “Married women are more than wives and mothers. We are strong. We are vivacious. We ought to be acknowledged for the character and finesse we bring to the world! Surviving cancer has taught me to live life to the fullest, and never give up. I have been on a journey these last seven years, after the battle with cancer. Now my journey has brought this wonderful title into my life to share my knowledge and life lessons with others. To all of the women out there, follow your hearts. Only you know what your dreams and goals are. And only you can achieve them!”
